Pingo the game
January 28th, 2008
At UC Berkeley, I took a course called “Introduction to digital media”. We went through a number of ideas on new media and it’s definition thereof. At one point, we received a project in which we were to design a game or website that interacted with visitors a bit more than basic information and feedback. I designed a game entitled “Pingo”
It’s essentially a photographic Bingo. Your supposed to print out the photo list and take the photograph of whatever square you want to fill. One square may ask for a finch, another for a man playing a guitar. After you’ve taken the photographs, you upload them to the site so that they fill the appropriate square. The first team to upload enough photographs to make a straight line win the game. The example below has two teams and cannot be reset after it’s played. There’s a couple of bugs still in it, but as an incomplete project, what do you expect? Also, keep in mind most of the pictures requested are based on Berkeley phenomena. With these warnings in mind, have fun!
